Local Groups

Be a local Hero!

One of our most impactful projects are the LitterHero Local Groups. These are simply groups of citizens who think that people's problems must be solved with the intervention of those directly affected.

They work wherever possible with the support of local councils and municipalities, but do not wait for an answer when the problem is urgent. Get to work on your streets, neighborhoods and cities to prevent and dispose of trash before it reaches the sea!

Local Groups Objectives

The purpose of the Local LitterHero Groups is to bring together local people who want to make a street, city or municipality cleaner.

Create the group (We Can Help!):
  1. Contact one of the Litter Hero administrators via email or message on the Litter Hero Portugal Facebook page.
  2. Send a photo where the trash is visible from the area the group will act in (landscape format) - See sample photos in other groups.

What to do:
  1. Follow the LitterHero Principles.
  2. Practice small and quick cleaning actions in the area, monthly, weekly or even daily.
  3. Organize Prevention or Waste Disposal Events in the area where the group operates.
  4. Share Events created by friends, groups, or local partners on social networks.
  5. Share relevant information on the topic (links, videos, tips specific to that area).
  6. Support other groups with similar goals.
